Job Title: Deli Team Member - Cook
Job Summary:
The Deli Team Member (Cook Focus) is responsible for preparing and cooking food items, maintaining a clean and safe kitchen area, and providing excellent customer service. This role ensures all food is cooked properly, presented well, and served in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook deli menu items (hot foods, fried items, sandwiches, etc.) according to recipes and company standards
- Operate kitchen equipment such as fryers, grills, ovens, and slicers safely
- Monitor food quality, freshness, and temperature throughout the cooking process
- Keep cooking and prep areas clean, organized, and stocked
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Assist with food prep, portioning, and packaging for display or customer orders
- Restock ingredients and supplies as needed
- Work with team members to ensure smooth and efficient service
- Provide friendly and helpful service to customers when needed
Qualifications:
- Previous cooking or food service experience preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Basic understanding of food safety practices
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25–50 lbs
Work Environment:
- Fast-paced deli/kitchen setting
- Exposure to hot equipment, sharp tools, and food preparation areas
