Facilities Engineer (Data Center)
Critical System Operations & Monitoring
• Monitor BMS/EMS/DCIM dashboards, identify alarms, and verify system status.
• Record and trend environmental readings (temperature, humidity, pressure).
• Perform load balancing checks across power distribution panels and PDUs.
• Conduct routine walkthroughs of data halls, plant rooms, UPS rooms, gensets, and cooling systems.
• Maintain accurate logs of operating parameters (temperature, humidity, load, etc.).
• Verify lighting, access control, and environmental integrity.
• Ensure no unauthorized personnel or safety hazards.
• Execute controlled start-up/shutdown of plant equipment per SOP during maintenance or emergencies.
• Coordinate load transfers during generator or UPS testing.
Preventive, Predictive & Corrective Maintenance
• Assist vendors during PM activities and ensure adherence to PTW/LOTO procedures.
• Review and verify completion checklists and service reports.
• Perform first-line troubleshooting on alarms or faults (e.g., reset tripped breakers, restart chillers).
• Maintain spare parts and tool inventory for minor repairs (on-site or off-site).
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) on mechanical and electrical (M&E) systems (if applicable).
• Identify repetitive faults or weak components and propose reliability improvements.
Incident Response & Escalation
• Carry out initial fault isolation and immediate containment measures.
• Support Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and incident reporting post-event.
• Follow escalation matrix and notify management according to severity.
• Record incident details in logbook and initiate Incident Report (IR).
Documentation
• Maintain accurate logs (manual and electronic) of meter readings, alarms, and operational parameters.
• Maintain shift handover reports, equipment checklists, and maintenance records.
• Support data entry into CMMS/BMS systems and ensure accuracy of historical data for trend analysis. (if any)
Other Duties
• Any other duties assigned by Supervisor / Asst Manager
Required Skills & Competencies
• Good understanding of M&E infrastructure.
• Able to be 24x7 Responsive during shift work, standby and/or off days.
• Capable of reviewing MOS, RA, ERP, SOPs, MOPs, and EOPs.
• Ability to read SLDs, schematics, and interpret system alarms.
• Knowledge of PTW, LOTO, confined space, and emergency procedures.
• Reliable team player with a strong sense of accountability.
