Job Description:

DePuy Synthes is recruiting for a(n) Facilities Planner and Scheduler, located in Suzhou, Jiangsu.

The Facilities Planner and Scheduler plays a critical role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and operational readiness of DePuy Synthes facilities in Suzhou. This position is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating preventive maintenance, corrective work, and small capital activities across manufacturing and office environments. The role partners closely with site operations, engineering, EHS, and external service providers to minimize downtime, ensure compliance, and support business continuity in a highly regulated MedTech environment. This is an impactful role that directly supports manufacturing performance, employee safety, and patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize preventive and corrective maintenance schedules for facilities, utilities, and building systems to support uninterrupted operations.

  • Plan, prioritize, and coordinate work orders in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), ensuring accurate scope, timing, and resource allocation.

  • Coordinate internal technicians and external vendors to ensure work is executed safely, on time, and in compliance with site, quality, and EHS requirements.

  • Monitor maintenance backlog, equipment availability, and schedule adherence; identify risks and recommend corrective actions.

  • Support facilities-related shutdowns, changeovers, and special projects by developing detailed schedules and resource plans.

  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, asset data, and documentation to support audits, inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and EHS teams to align maintenance plans with operational priorities and regulatory requirements.

  • Analyze maintenance data and KPIs to identify trends, improve planning effectiveness, and drive reliability improvements.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field (required).

  • Technical diploma or equivalent experience in facilities, engineering, or maintenance planning may be considered in lieu of a degree (preferred).

Experience and Skills

Required:

  • Typically 2–4 years of relevant work experience in facilities planning, maintenance scheduling, engineering operations, or a similar role, aligned to professional-level expectations.

  • Experience using CMMS or maintenance planning systems for work order management and scheduling.

  • Working knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, utilities, fire protection) in an industrial or manufacturing environment.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with crossfunctional teams and external service providers.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; ability to analyze and report maintenance data.

  • Able to communicate effectively across multiple teams including facilities, site operations teams, general office staff

  • Ability to partner with regional peers to share and leverage best practices, common scheduling methodologies and standards

Preferred:

  • Experience supporting facilities operations in a regulated industry such as medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or life sciences.

  • Familiarity with reliability, preventive maintenance, or continuous improvement methodologies.

  • Experience supporting audits, inspections, or regulatory requirements related to facilities and utilities.

  • Basic project coordination experience for facilities or small capital projects.

  • Strong planning, coordination, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities across a large-scale multi-use facility.

Other:

  • Language: Proficiency in Mandarin required; working knowledge of English preferred for global collaboration.

  • Travel: Limited local travel; occasional regional travel may be required (≤10%).

  • Certifications: Facilities, maintenance, or safety-related certifications (preferred, not required).
