Job Description Summary:
The Facility Maintenance Technician II is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of water district buildings, and structures.

Perform tasks, such as painting, carpentry, basic plumbing, remodeling work, other general maintenance, etc., on TRWD buildings, structures, and grounds
Responsible for assigned projects from start to finish in coordination with senior Facilities staff, including, but not limited to, identifying materials and labor needs, completing the work, leading work crews, etc.
Perform data entry for work orders and for timekeeping
Perform and/or coordinate routine preventative maintenance
Transporting materials and equipment for maintenance projects
Uphold safety standards and maintain a clean work environment
Interact and coordinate with other TRWD personnel
After hours Emergency Response
Participate in an on-call rotation
Report maintenance or structural issues to department supervisor
Participate in applicable condition assessments
Maintain familiarity with strategic district levels of service
Continuous improvement monitoring and innovation efforts
May supervise janitorial staff
Performance review alignment for janitorial staff
May review job descriptions
Perform other duties as required
Required Experience:
Four (4) years of facility maintenance, remodeling, or a related field
Ability to identify materials necessary for an assigned task or project
Ability to lead others and be responsible from start to finish of assigned projects
Desired Experience:
Six (6) years of experience in facility maintenance, remodeling, or a related field
Ability to identify labor needs for an assigned task or project
Participation in a building trade apprenticeship or equivalent
Required Education/Certification/License:
Valid Texas driver’s license
High school diploma or GED
Desired Education/Certification/License:
Trade school accreditations totaling two (2) years in a related field
Associate degree or equivalent

This position will also work in confined spaces, on water ways such as lakes or rivers, and at various heights.
