Faculty – Medical/Surgical Nursing Speciality (BScN Program)

Oulton College is seeking a qualified and passionate Nursing Faculty member to deliver Medical\-Surgical Nursing didactic and lab courses within our Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) program. <\/span><\/span><\/span>This course prepares students for the role of the registered nurse in complex medical\-surgical environments, emphasizing safe, ethical, and evidence\-based care.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

This is a full\-time permanent position; however, we are open to considering a part\-time contract arrangement if it better suits the successful candidate.<\/span>

The successful candidate will support students in developing clinical reasoning, critical thinking, and practical skills through both<\/span> <\/span><\/span>theory instruction and a required lab component<\/span><\/b>. <\/span><\/span><\/span>

Key Responsibilities<\/span><\/b><\/span>

  • Deliver course content through lectures and hands\-on lab sessions<\/span><\/span><\/span>

  • Facilitate student learning in areas including:<\/span><\/span>
    <\/span><\/li><\/ul>
  • Facilitate student learning in areas such as pain management, wound care, perioperative care, and complex health conditions<\/span>
    <\/span><\/p><\/li>

  • Integrate nursing theory with health science concepts to support clinical decision\-making<\/span>
    <\/span><\/p><\/li>

  • Guide students in applying the nursing process to diverse patient populations<\/span>
    <\/span><\/p><\/li>

  • Promote the use of evidence\-informed practice and clinical reasoning
    <\/span><\/p><\/li><\/blockquote><\/blockquote>

  • Grade assignments, exams, and learning activities<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

  • Provide timely, constructive feedback to students<\/span><\/span>

    Requirements<\/h3>
    • Minimum of a Master\u2019s degree in Nursing<\/span>
      <\/span><\/span><\/li>
    • Current registration (or eligibility) with a provincial nursing regulatory body<\/span><\/span><\/span>
      <\/span><\/span><\/li>
    • Recent clinical experience in medical\-surgical nursing<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
      <\/span><\/span><\/li>
    • Experience teaching at the post\-secondary level, with demonstrated ability to engage and support degree\-level learners, is considered a strong asset<\/span>
      <\/span><\/span><\/li>
    • Strong understanding of learning outcomes, assessment design, and academic standards aligned with undergraduate education<\/span>
      <\/span><\/span><\/li>
    • Excellent communication, organizational, and instructional skills<\/span>
