PURPOSE<\/span> <\/span>OF<\/span>THE <\/span>POSITION:<\/span> <\/span><\/b>Will<\/span> <\/span>work<\/span> <\/span>as<\/span> <\/span>a <\/span>team<\/span> <\/span>member<\/span> <\/span>with<\/span> <\/span>the<\/span> <\/span>Family<\/span> <\/span>and<\/span> <\/span>Community <\/span>Partnerships<\/span> <\/span>service<\/span> <\/span>area<\/span> <\/span>to<\/span> <\/span>assist<\/span> <\/span>in<\/span> <\/span>the<\/span> <\/span>coordination<\/span> <\/span>and<\/span> <\/span>implement<\/span> <\/span>of<\/span> <\/span>activities<\/span> <\/span>and<\/span> <\/span>services<\/span> <\/span>in<\/span> <\/span>the<\/span> <\/span><\/span>areas<\/span> <\/span>of<\/span> <\/span>Family<\/span> <\/span>Services<\/span> <\/span>and<\/span> <\/span>Parent<\/span> <\/span>Involvement<\/span> <\/span>for<\/span> <\/span>enrolled<\/span> <\/span>children<\/span> <\/span>and<\/span> <\/span>their<\/span> <\/span>families<\/span>

QUALIFICATIONS:<\/b><\/span>
<\/p>

  • A Bachelors'<\/span> <\/span>Degree <\/span>in Social work,<\/span> Counseling,<\/span> <\/span>Human<\/span> Services,<\/span> Psychology, Sociology <\/span>and<\/span> or related<\/span> field.<\/span>
    <\/span><\/li>
  • Extensive work<\/span> experience <\/span>in crisis<\/span> intervention<\/span> <\/span>will be helpful.<\/span>
    <\/span><\/li>
  • Individual<\/span> must have <\/span>knowledge <\/span>of skills and<\/span> abilities<\/span> needed<\/span> to perform<\/span> the <\/span>assigned <\/span>functions.<\/span>
    <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>
  • Must be knowledgeable<\/span> <\/span>of family<\/span> <\/span>situations<\/span> as<\/span> they <\/span>relate <\/span>to diverse <\/span>ethnic cultural,<\/span> <\/span>religious<\/span> and <\/span>environmental backgrounds;<\/span> able <\/span>to <\/span>work<\/span> with a diverse <\/span>population.

  • Must display <\/span>sensitivity <\/span>and<\/span> respect<\/span> for <\/span>individuals with varying<\/span> <\/span>socioeconomic, cultural,<\/span> <\/span>racial,<\/span> ethnic,<\/span> <\/span>religious<\/span> and environmental<\/span> backgrounds.

  • Must possess good<\/span> oral<\/span> <\/span>and written<\/span> communication<\/span> skills.

    <\/span>DUTIES<\/b><\/span> <\/b><\/span>INCLUDE:<\/b><\/span>
    <\/p>

    • Will carry<\/span> <\/span>out program<\/span> <\/span>goals<\/span> and objectives<\/span> based <\/span>on the Head<\/span> Start/Early<\/span> <\/span>Head<\/span> Start<\/span> Revised<\/span> <\/span>Performance\nStandards.<\/span>
      <\/span><\/li>
    • Will submit<\/span> weekly/monthly<\/span> <\/span>reports to include:<\/span> home visits, enrollment,<\/span> referrals,<\/span> attendance, <\/span>family <\/span>contacts,<\/span> maintain<\/span> <\/span>monthly <\/span>contacts<\/span> with parents,<\/span> etc.<\/span> to the <\/span>Community/Family <\/span>Partnerships<\/span> Specialist.<\/span>
      <\/span><\/li>
    • Will recruit,<\/span> screen<\/span> and enroll eligible children.<\/span>
      <\/span><\/li>
    • Will assist<\/span> potential<\/span> and current<\/span> Head Start<\/span> families<\/span> in\nobtaining <\/span>the required<\/span> information<\/span> <\/span>necessary <\/span>for registration<\/span> <\/span>and<\/span> enrollment.<\/span>
      <\/span><\/li>
    • Will assist<\/span> in arranging/providing<\/span> <\/span>transportation<\/span> for families<\/span> attending <\/span>agency <\/span>training/functions/meetings,<\/span> <\/span>etc.<\/span>
      <\/span><\/li>
    • Will maintain<\/span> accurate<\/span> caseload<\/span> documentation<\/span> on each<\/span> <\/span>child/family.<\/span><\/span>
      <\/li>
    • Will accurately<\/span> <\/span>record<\/span> all<\/span> <\/span>contacts,<\/span> meetings<\/span> and<\/span> services<\/span> provided on the appropriate<\/span> forms in a <\/span>timely <\/span>manner. <\/span>
      <\/li>
    • Will collect<\/span> and monitor <\/span>daily <\/span>attendance <\/span>of<\/span> assigned caseload.<\/span><\/span>
      <\/li>
    • Will contact<\/span> parent<\/span> or <\/span>guardian<\/span> via home <\/span>visit or telephone <\/span>when the child<\/span> <\/span>has<\/span> been<\/span> absent 2 or more <\/span>consecutive days.<\/span><\/span>
      <\/li>
    • Will ensure\nrequired<\/span> enrollment of <\/span>no\nless than 85% <\/span>per<\/span> classroom<\/span> is maintained. <\/span>
      <\/span><\/li>
    • Will encourage\nparent<\/span> involvement<\/span> and participation<\/span> in all aspects<\/span> of the Head<\/span> Start<\/span> program <\/span>to include<\/span> parent<\/span> center meetings,<\/span> Policy <\/span>Council,<\/span> volunteer<\/span> programs<\/span> etc.<\/span>
      <\/span><\/li>
    • Will work<\/span> a rotating<\/span> <\/span>shift <\/span>from<\/span> 3:30 PM until all<\/span> buses<\/span> clear<\/span> in <\/span>Hampton,<\/span> Denbigh<\/span> <\/span>and<\/span> <\/span>Downtown<\/span> Newport<\/span> News.<\/span>
      <\/li>
    • Ensures<\/span> all<\/span> health<\/span> screenings<\/span> are <\/span>completed within the first<\/span> 45 days<\/span> of enrollment.<\/span><\/span>
      <\/li>
    • Maintain<\/span> individual<\/span> health<\/span> records<\/span> of all<\/span> children<\/span> <\/span>enrolled<\/span> in the program.<\/span><\/span>
      <\/li>
    • Ensures<\/span> all<\/span> health<\/span> services and<\/span> follow\-up<\/span> services<\/span> <\/span>on children<\/span> are obtained<\/span> in<\/span> a <\/span>timely <\/span>manner in accordance<\/span> <\/span>with the Performance <\/span>Standards.
      <\/span><\/li>
    • Assist in the scheduling<\/span> <\/span>and arrangement<\/span> of <\/span>medical services<\/span> provided for,<\/span> <\/span>and<\/span> to Head<\/span> Start<\/span> <\/span>children<\/span> and<\/span> families. <\/span><\/span>
      <\/li>
    • Will meet<\/span> regularly/as<\/span> needed with the <\/span>Family <\/span>Services<\/span> Specialist<\/span> to review<\/span> <\/span>the status<\/span> of the <\/span>caseload,<\/span> <\/span>classroom<\/span> etc.<\/span><\/span>
      <\/li>
    • Will assist<\/span> transportation<\/span> as<\/span> a <\/span>bus\nmonitor when<\/span> needed.<\/span><\/span>
      <\/li>
    • Accepts<\/span> other duties as<\/span> assigned<\/span> by<\/span> <\/span>the Supervisor and/or<\/span> Director.<\/span>

      • To ensure<\/span> <\/span>all<\/span> health screenings<\/span> are completed<\/span> <\/span>within 45 of enrollment.<\/span>

      • To maintain<\/span> individual<\/span> <\/span>Health<\/span> records<\/span> of <\/span>all<\/span> children<\/span> enrolled<\/span> in the <\/span>program.
        <\/span><\/li>
      • To ensure<\/span> <\/span>all<\/span> health services<\/span> and<\/span> follow\-up services<\/span> are<\/span> <\/span>obtained in a <\/span>timely <\/span>manner in <\/span>accordance <\/span>with the Performance <\/span>Standards.
        <\/span><\/li>
