Instrument & Controls Technician

As an Instrument & Controls Technician, you will provide important electrical and instrumentation support to the Fairburn, GA plant by testing, troubleshooting, and repairing a range of electronic equipment.

Some of your essential duties and responsibilities may include:

  • Analyzing and addressing the root causes of electrical issues to repair complicated electrical equipment.

  • Maintaining microprocessors, PLC, motor drive, operator interface terminals, and robotic systems by making modifications and installing parts as necessary

  • Reading and using diagrams, technical manuals, and engineering instructions

You may fit well into this role if you have:

  • A current Low Voltage Qualification (LVQ) qualified or can do so within first month of onboarding.

  • Electrical Technical School / Military equivalent or 2+ years Industrial Electrical experience.

  • Have a basic knowledge of electronics and electrical theories, including digital circuitry, AC/DC theory, microprocessors, and logic systems.

  • Can work as a member of a team and communicate technical information to other personnel.

  • Need to have exposure to automated controls systems in a high-speed application.

  • Experience troubleshooting Allen-Bradley (Rockwell Automation) PLC controllers, including ControlLogix, CompactLogix, and MicroLogix platforms, using RSLogix 5000/Studio 5000 software for ladder logic diagnostics, fault identification, and program modifications.

  • Experience troubleshooting Siemens PLC controllers, including S7-300, S7-400, and S7-1200/1500 series, using TIA Portal and STEP 7 software for program diagnostics, fault analysis, and online monitoring of ladder, FBD, or STL logic.
