Field Service Engineer (Electrical / Mechanical / Automation)
- Perform field inspections and evaluations to ensure compliance with UL standards and requirements
- Analyze test and examination results, applying technical judgment to assess compliance and determine acceptable alternatives
- Review manufacturers’ production, inspection, and quality systems to ensure ongoing conformity with UL requirements
- Identify nonconformities, evaluate corrective actions, and resolve variation notices
- Audit quality management systems and support implementation of quality-based inspection programs
- Verify accuracy and calibration of measurement equipment; conduct inspections using technical instruments
- Communicate with manufacturers, customers, and Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) to support certification activities
- Investigate misuse of the UL Mark and provide guidance on UL policies, procedures, and services
- Provide technical support across multiple disciplines (e.g., electrical, mechanical, automation)
- Document inspection findings, maintain reports, and manage scheduling, time, and expense records
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to policy and program enhancements
- Collaborate with internal teams on field reviews, audits, and technical assessments
- Ensure compliance with UL Code of Conduct and safety/security practices
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Automation Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Strong technical knowledge and ability to interpret standards and test requirements
- Proficient in English with strong report writing skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated and able to work independently while managing multiple priorities
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 and Quality Management Systems (preferred)
- Proficiency in Chinese is an added advantage
- Willingness to travel, including overseas assignments
