Field Supervisor – SA Water

About the Opportunity
We’re looking for an experienced Field Supervisor to join our Utilities team supporting SA Water operations. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll be out in the field, leading from the front, and ensuring the safe, efficient delivery of wastewater operations and maintenance activities.
You’ll play a key role in driving performance across safety, service delivery, asset reliability and customer outcomes — while building capability within your team and fostering a strong, outcome-driven culture.
What You’ll Be Doing
Leading Field Operations
- Oversee day-to-day operational activities across planned, reactive and maintenance works
- Act as the first point of contact for operational issues and adapt work programs as required
- Lead emergency response and incident management when needed
Managing Performance & Systems
- Take ownership of works management systems (including JAMS), ensuring data accuracy and reporting integrity
- Drive schedule compliance, backlog management and workforce optimisation
- Monitor performance metrics and identify trends or improvement opportunities
Driving Commercial Outcomes
- Manage budgets within delegated authority and maintain cost control
- Identify and implement productivity and efficiency improvements
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across operations
Project & Field Delivery
- Coordinate minor capital works and project delivery
- Maintain a strong field presence, conducting audits and supporting teams on the ground
Leading Your Team
- Provide strong leadership, coaching and technical guidance
- Promote a safety-first culture and lead by example
- Build capability through mentoring and development
- Foster positive stakeholder and customer relationships
What You Bring
We’re looking for someone who is confident in the field, commercially aware, and strong on people leadership.
Experience & Qualifications
- 5+ years’ experience within the water or utilities sector
- Certificate III/IV in Civil Construction (or equivalent experience)
- Current Driver’s Licence and White Card
Technical & Leadership Skills
- Ability to interpret civil/mechanical drawings and scopes of work
- Strong understanding of maintenance planning, SWMS and risk assessments
- Experience with works management systems and performance reporting
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- A collaborative, outcome-driven mindset with the ability to influence teams
