Field Technician (Full Time) - Greely, CO

Join Abra Controls as We Expand into Northern Colorado

Abra Controls is expanding our field operations into the Greeley, Colorado area, and we're looking for an experienced, self-motivated Field Service Technician to help establish our presence in the region.

This is a unique opportunity to become our first field-based employee in Northern Colorado. We're looking for someone with at least one year of oilfield experience who is comfortable working independently, making sound decisions in the field, and delivering exceptional service to our clients. If you enjoy solving problems, working outdoors, building relationships, and taking ownership of your work, this role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while growing alongside our business.

As our Northern Colorado operations continue to expand, you'll work closely with a Field Service Supervisor based in Midland, Texas, while serving as the local face of Abra Controls. Initially, you'll operate from the field rather than a permanent local shop. You'll be provided with a company truck, the tools and equipment needed to support client operations, and ongoing support from our experienced operations team. As business grows, we anticipate establishing a permanent shop location in the area.

Because you'll be launching our operations in a new market, this role requires a high level of initiative and professionalism. In addition to supporting field operations, you'll help build relationships with clients, identify opportunities to support their operational needs, and represent Abra Controls throughout the region. Your feedback and local knowledge will play an important role as we continue investing in Northern Colorado.

Training is a required part of this position. The successful candidate must be willing and able to travel to either Midland, Texas, or Williston, North Dakota for initial hands-on training before assuming responsibility for the Colorado territory. This training ensures you're fully prepared to safely install, maintain, troubleshoot, and support the equipment and services our clients depend on.

If you're looking for an opportunity to be more than just another technician, and instead become a foundational member of a growing operation, we'd love to hear from you.

What We Provide:

  • Competitive full-time salaried position
  • Company vehicle and field equipment
  • Hands-on training and mentorship
  • A supportive and team-oriented work environment
  • Opportunities to learn technical equipment, client operations, and field services
  • Independence and autonomy in the field
  • A strong safety culture
  • The opportunity to help build and grow a new service territory
  • A commission program that rewards employees for generating new business opportunities that result in new work within their assigned territory

Schedule & Territory Expectations

This is not a traditional Monday–Friday 8:00 AM–5:00 PM role.

As we establish our Northern Colorado operations, this role will evolve alongside our client base. While this is a full-time salaried position, work hours and workload will be less predictable during the initial startup phase. Some weeks may involve multiple field service calls, while others may focus on training, customer visits, equipment preparation, territory development, or supporting business growth initiatives.

Technicians should be comfortable with:

  • Flexible schedules based on client needs
  • Variable weekly workloads as the territory grows
  • Short-notice client requests
  • Early mornings or late evenings when required
  • Occasional overnight travel for training or operational support

During periods when field service demand is lighter, you'll remain actively engaged by:

  • Visiting existing and prospective customers throughout the region
  • Building relationships with operators and field personnel
  • Identifying opportunities where Abra Controls' products and services can provide value
  • Performing site reconnaissance and gathering information for future projects
  • Supporting equipment preparation, maintenance, inventory, and training
  • Assisting with other operational initiatives that will help establish and grow the Colorado territory

Because you'll be the first Abra Controls employee based in Northern Colorado, we're looking for someone who enjoys wearing multiple hats and helping build something from the ground up. Success in this role requires initiative, professionalism, and a willingness to support both field operations and the continued growth of our business.

As the territory expands, responsibilities will become increasingly focused on field service operations, and additional local team members will be added to support our growing client base.

Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

  • Demonstrate an unwavering commitment to safe work practices.
  • Participate in monthly safety meetings, toolbox talks, and ongoing safety training.
  • Complete all required HSE documentation accurately and on time.
  • Follow all company, client, and regulatory safety requirements.
  • Maintain all required certifications and ensure they remain current.

Schedule & Availability

Successful candidates are comfortable with:

  • Working independently across a large geographic territory.
  • Flexible schedules based on customer and operational needs.
  • Variable workloads as the Colorado territory continues to grow.
  • Working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Traveling throughout the service region.
  • Occasional overnight travel for training or operational support.
  • Participating in rotating overnight and weekend on-call coverage as local operations expand.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys autonomy, takes initiative, and is excited about helping establish Abra Controls' long-term presence in Northern Colorado.
