Role Overview
Field Technician have skills with ability to assemble equipment, part maintenance and replacement, refurbishment (terrestrial, Aerial and other hardware tools/platforms). Handling & operating hardware equipment, tools (mechanical tools, soldering irons, etc) & safety gears. Skills to manage forklift will be an added asset.
Responsibilities
Assembly and disassembly of systems in-house and in-field on vehicles etc.Troubleshooting and replacing various computer and camera componentsRemote support for vehicle fleet, including walking operators through system function tests and collecting relevant data over the phoneSupport engineering teams with test and data collection projectsProvide support & Repair: Follow the guidelines as given in the helpdesks to repair all vehicles coming for repair locally or by remote support.Refurbishment: Ensure the refurbishment is done for all the partsPrototyping and testing advanced Client-designed equipment such as high-resolution cameras, mechanical frames, cables and overall geolocation equipmentTrain technicians to support all new camera systems once they are formally rolled into operationsAssembling, testing and repairing hardware of proprietary Street View systems.Troubleshooting and replacing various proprietary computer and camera components.Remote support for systems, including walking operators through system function tests and collecting relevant data over the phone or video conference.Qualifications
2-3 years of relevant work experience.Familiarity with various testing techniques and great hardware troubleshooting skillsHardware troubleshooting, installation and warehouse managementFamiliarity with vehicle parts, computer parts , camera parts, PCB etcExcellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to operate and communicate effectively with people at all levels of the business.Comfortable with a rapidly-changing environmentStrong problem-solving skills and excellent attention to detailAble to work independently, motivated, proactive attitude with a passion for learning and creative problem solvingAdditional requirements
Ability to travel, often on short notice.Valid passport or ability to obtain one within <6 months.Clear driving record (MVR) and ability to operate motor vehicles.Tools
Expert knowledge of and experience with Hand tools, light power tools, Types and application of hardware, Measuring tools and techniques, Basic automotive repair, Understanding of wiring diagrams (preferred but not required), Electronics repairs (preferred but not required), Basic knowledge of Linux (preferred but not required) Working knowledge of Ticketing systems, Gmail and Google Calendar, Basic spreadsheet tasks (Google Sheets, preferred), Moderate to advanced automotive repair.
