Finance Analyst

About the role
We're looking for a Finance Analyst to join BSI's Finance Shared Services team.
In this role, you'll play an important part in delivering accurate and timely financial reporting across a portfolio of entities, supporting the month-end close process and ensuring financial information is complete, compliant and delivered to a high standard.
Working closely with finance colleagues and stakeholders across multiple countries, you'll be responsible for general ledger accounting, balance sheet reconciliations, fixed assets, intercompany accounting and lease accounting, while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen our global finance operations.

Key Responsibilities
Prepare and post General Ledger journals, including accruals, prepayments, recurring journals, reclassifications and other Record to Report transactions.
Support month-end and year-end close activities, ensuring financial reporting deadlines are achieved.
Prepare, review and maintain balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving reconciling items promptly.
Monitor and clear General Ledger open items to ensure accounts remain accurate and up to date.
Support the preparation of financial statements, management reports and supporting schedules.
Manage intercompany accounting activities, including reconciliations, confirmations, accruals and balance reviews.
Support fixed asset accounting, including capitalisation, depreciation, transfers, disposals and asset register maintenance.
Perform IFRS 16 lease accounting activities, including lease schedules, right-of-use assets, lease liabilities and related journal postings.
Respond to queries from finance teams and business stakeholders relating to financial reporting, journals, reconciliations and month-end activities.
Support statutory reporting, audits, internal controls and compliance activities by preparing supporting documentation and analysis.
Build strong relationships with finance colleagues across the business, providing guidance on Record to Report processes and accounting matters.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, finance transformation activities and process automation projects.
Provide cross-team support during key reporting periods to ensure successful delivery of month-end close activities.
What we're looking for
Essential
Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
Experience working within Accounting, Finance Operations, Shared Services or Audit.
Good understanding of month-end close processes and General Ledger accounting.
Experience preparing journals and balance sheet reconciliations.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial controls.
Excellent attention to detail with the ability to work accurately to tight deadlines.
Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships across international teams.
A proactive, collaborative approach with a continuous improvement mindset.
Good spoken and written English.
Highly desirable
Part-qualified or qualified ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent.
Experience working within a Record to Report (R2R) environment.
Experience with intercompany accounting, fixed assets and IFRS 16 lease accounting.
Knowledge of SAP, BlackLine or similar ERP and financial systems.
Experience supporting finance transformation, automation or process improvement initiatives.
Previous experience working within a multinational or shared services environment.
