Your Role: Finance Manager - External Manufacturing Hub (API)
EEM-API is the hub that manages Elanco's external Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) manufacturers, with responsibility for governance, supply, performance, and compliance. It sits at the center of external manufacturing operations, ensuring service levels and supply continuity are met. The External Manufacturing API Finance Manager is part of the Elanco Manufacturing Finance team and provides financial and operational support to the EEM API Finance Controller and organization. This role supports core finance processes including monthly close, forecasting, annual business planning, financial controls, product costing, and ad hoc analysis. The position works closely with the EEM API team, Procurement, Supply Chain, Operations, and Global Manufacturing Finance to ensure accurate reporting, timely insights, and effective execution of finance activities.
Your Responsibilities:
Support the EEM API Finance Controller in the execution of monthly financial close activities for EEM API operations.
Support process order settlement activities and partner with Supply Chain to investigate and resolve discrepancies.
Work with budget owners to help ensure monthly expenditures are recorded accurately and required accruals are completed in SAP.
Prepare variance analysis versus forecast and plan, summarize key business drivers, and support commentary for external manufacturing spend.
Prepare or support journal entries for accruals, reversals, reclassifications, and allocations, as needed.
Support trial balance reviews by researching variances, summarizing findings, and assisting with follow-up actions.
Support the monthly forecast process by coordinating with budget owners, Operations, and Procurement to refresh expenses, production volumes, and key assumptions.
Support the annual business plan process by gathering inputs from cross-functional stakeholders related to expenses, production volumes, toll fees, and purchase prices.
Support annual product costing activities and related analysis to help develop product-level cost of product sales.
Contribute to reporting, financial controls, process improvements, and ad hoc analysis that support the EEM API Finance Controller and the broader external manufacturing finance agenda.
What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications):
Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field.
Above 5 years of experience in finance, accounting, or a related analytical role.
Strong analytical, financial process, and problem-solving skills.
Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications):
Previous experience in a manufacturing or operations finance environment.
Experience with product costing methodologies.
Advanced Excel skills and experience with Power BI or similar analytical tools.
Experience using SAP or another ERP system.
Experience working effectively with cross-functional teams including Operations, R&D, Procurement, Finance, and Commercial partners.
Ability to work effectively across cultures and across diverse management styles.
Additional Information:
Travel: Approximately 10% on an annual basis.
Location: Bangalore, India.
