Finance Manager for manufacturing/energy company (based in Pioneer/Gul Circle 2 to 3 times a week)

Our client is looking to hire a hands-on Finance Manager for a manufacturing/energy entity that the firm invested in. For this role, you will work closely with the CEO as a finance business advisor. You will also interact with the CFO and senior management of the holding company (who are based in Singapore).
As a finance manager, you will manage a lean team of 2 in a start up environment. The role is based in the Pioneer/Gul Circle office 2 to 3 times a week (and another 2 days based in the town office).
Responsibilities
- Lead the overall finance function, driving financial strategy and ensuring alignment with Group’s strategic priorities, corporate governance standards
- Oversee financial planning and performance management, including budgeting, forecasting and analysis, including operating expenditure, forecasting and working capital management, providing forward-looking insights to support senior management decision-making
- Oversee financial reporting matters, including group reporting to the holding company
- Evaluate financial performance against plans, identify key variances and risks, and influence timely corrective actions across business units
- Act as a strategic business partner to the leadership team, shaping financial direction, challenging assumptions and ensuring alignment between financial outcomes and business objectives
- Manage plant and manufacturing finance activities, including standard costing, variance analysis, production cost tracking, inventory valuation, and margin analysis.
- Partner with operations and engineering teams to monitor manufacturing efficiency, yield, scrap, downtime, energy usage, and other operational cost drivers.
- Establish and maintain robust governance, controls and compliance frameworks, including oversight of tax, regulatory and statutory requirements
- Support and lead finance workstreams for corporate initiatives, including M&As and investments (if any)
- Engage with the Board of Directors and Management, providing clear financial insights and supporting discussions on key strategic and governance matters
- Provide oversight of enterprise risk management and insurance coverage, ensuring appropriate mitigation strategies are in place to safeguard the Company’s interests
- Drive continuous improvement and digitalisation initiatives within the finance function, enhancing efficiency, scalability and data integrity
- Manage relationships with key external stakeholders, including banks, auditors, tax advisors and other professional partners
- Build and lead a lean Finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous development
Requirements
- Degree in Accountancy or equivalent from a reputable university, with a recognised CPA or CA qualification
- At least 8 years of relevant experience preferably within manufacturing or energy industries
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to connect operational drivers to financial outcomes
- Hands-on attitude: Proven experience in building and restructuring finance departments from the ground up. This is not a pure management oversight role; you must be willing to get your hands dirty to work side by side with the operations team to truly understand the business operations and cost and revenue drivers.
- Demonstrates sound judgement, integrity and strong governance mindset
- Proven ability to lead and inspire teams, while driving alignment across multiple stakeholders
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to operate effectively at senior management and Board level
- Comfortable to be based on-site in Pioneer/Gul Circle area at least 2-3 days a week
