We are looking for an exceptional Finance & Strategy (F&S) Manager to join the Finance team at PSA Japan, a division of Collectors and the market leader in third-party grading and authentication for trading cards in Japan.
This is not a traditional FP&A role. We are looking for a highly analytical, commercially minded finance leader who can help shape business strategy, challenge assumptions, and influence key decisions across the organization.
Reporting into the International Finance & Strategy organization based in the United States, with a dotted-line reporting relationship to the Head of Finance, Japan, this role serves as a key bridge between PSA Japan and the global Finance organization. The role requires close collaboration with senior leaders across Japan and the U.S., making strong business English communication skills essential.
As a trusted business partner to senior leadership, you will combine rigorous financial analysis with strategic thinking to identify growth opportunities, evaluate investments, solve complex business problems, and improve operational performance. You will work cross-functionally with Operations, Commercial, Product, and Global Finance teams to drive data-driven decision making in one of the fastest-growing businesses within Collectors.
The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous environments, demonstrates exceptional problem-solving ability, and is comfortable operating at both a strategic and execution level. Success in this role requires intellectual curiosity, sound business judgment, strong ownership, and the ability to influence senior stakeholders through clear, data-driven recommendations.
This role offers a unique opportunity to influence the long-term growth strategy of one of Collectors' fastest-growing international businesses while partnering closely with senior leaders across Japan and the U.S.
The role is based in our Tokyo office, with flexibility for partial remote work.
What you’ll do:
Drive strategic decision making through rigorous financial and business analysis.
Evaluate strategic investments, pricing, capacity expansion, and new business opportunities.
Lead complex financial modeling, scenario planning, and business case development for key strategic initiatives.
Challenge business assumptions and provide independent, data-driven recommendations to senior leadership.
Influence cross-functional leaders through fact-based financial insights and business partnership.
Build executive-ready presentations and financial narratives for business reviews and strategic discussions.
Own the annual operating plan (AOP), quarterly forecasts, and monthly business performance reviews.
Lead long-range planning and strategic forecasting processes.
Translate complex analyses into clear recommendations and help drive execution through business partners.
Partner closely with Accounting to ensure accurate financial reporting and effective planning processes.
Identify structural opportunities to improve profitability, operational efficiency, and capital allocation.
Take ownership of cross-functional initiatives from business case development through execution and post-implementation review.
Support other strategic initiatives and ad hoc analyses as business priorities evolve.
Who you are:

Comfortable navigating ambiguity, making decisions with imperfect information, and driving outcomes in a rapidly evolving business environment.
Outstanding analytical and structured problem-solving skills with the ability to simplify complex business issues.
Exercises sound business judgment and balances analytical rigor with practical decision making.
Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders through data-driven insights rather than formal authority.
Proven track record of operating successfully in fast-paced, high-growth, and ambiguous environments.
High intellectual curiosity with a bias toward action, ownership, and continuous improvement.
Ability to think beyond finance and understand commercial, operational, and strategic business drivers.
Experience in highly analytical environments such as investment banking, management consulting, corporate strategy, strategic FP&A, or similar disciplines is highly valued.
Experience partnering directly with senior executives and influencing strategic decisions through financial insights.
Demonstrated ability to effectively leverage AI tools to improve analytical productivity, problem solving, and communication.
Experience & Technical Skills
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Hands-on experience leading budgeting, forecasting, performance management, and long-range planning.
Strong financial modeling capabilities, including scenario analysis, investment evaluation, and business case development.
Strong analytical toolkit including advanced Excel, financial modeling, data analysis, and business reporting.
Deep understanding of financial statements and financial performance analysis.
Experience developing executive dashboards, KPIs, and business performance reporting.
Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and JGAAP.
