Finance Supervisor / GL Lead – Financial Reporting & Closing | Up to $5,000

Company Overview

Our client is an established organisation with structured finance operations and a growing team. They are seeking a Finance Supervisor / GL Lead to oversee general ledger functions, financial reporting, and team coordination to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Closing & Reporting

  • Lead month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting
  • Review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting schedules
  • Ensure proper accruals, provisions, and cut-off procedures
  • Prepare management reports and audit schedules

General Ledger Management

  • Oversee GL postings and ensure accurate account classification
  • Reconcile intercompany balances and monitor suspense accounts
  • Manage fixed asset accounting and ensure proper documentation

Compliance & Audit

  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards (e.g. SFRS/IFRS) and internal policies
  • Liaise with external auditors and tax agents
  • Support GST and corporate tax reporting

Workflow & Process Management

  • Develop and implement structured month-end closing processes and checklists
  • Establish journal review and approval workflows
  • Ensure proper documentation, audit trail, and adherence to internal controls
  • Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy

Team Supervision

  • Supervise GL team members and review work quality
  • Provide technical guidance to AP/AR teams
  • Allocate tasks, monitor deadlines, and support team development

Requirements

  • Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related discipline
  • At least 5 to 8 years of relevant accounting experience
  • Prior supervisory or team lead experience preferred
  • Familiarity with ERP systems is an advantage
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting and accounting standards
