Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated to join our team. The Financial Accountant – Accounts Payable (H/M) will be based in Casablanca.

On a typical day you will:

Accounts Payable & Supplier Management:

  • Ensure accurate and complete recording of supplier invoices with proper analytical allocation.
  • Monitor supplier accounts and manage local and international payments.
  • Perform supplier reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with payment deadlines and cash flow requirements.

Daily Accounting Operations:

  • Prepare, review, and post accounting entries.
  • Perform periodic analysis and reconciliation of general ledger accounts.
  • Maintain and update vendor master data.

Bank Operations & Reconciliations:

  • Prepare and review monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Monitor and analyze bank transactions and discrepancies.

Month-End Closing & Reporting:

  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities (accruals, reconciliations, reporting).
  • Contribute to the preparation of financial reports and ensure data accuracy.

Tax & Statutory Declarations:

  • Prepare and submit tax declarations in compliance with local regulations (VAT, corporate tax, withholding tax).
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all fiscal filings.
  • Coordinate with external advisors and internal stakeholders on tax matters when needed.

Internal Control & Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and local tax regulations.
  • Maintain strong internal controls over accounting processes and data reliability.

Budget & Performance Monitoring:

  • Support budget preparation and cost monitoring activities.
  • Analyze variances and provide insights on financial performance.

Audit & Continuous Improvement:

  • Participate in internal and external audits.
  • Contribute to process improvements and automation initiatives within the accounting function.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with procurement, logistics, and finance teams to ensure smooth operations and accurate financial reporting.

What You Will Need to be Successful:

  • Bachelor’s degree (Bac+3 / Bac+5) in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in Accounts Payable or general accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of Moroccan accounting standards and tax regulations (CGNC, VAT, IS, IR).
  • Knowledge of IFRS/GAAP is a plus.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., JDE or similar).
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data analysis, reconciliations, reporting).
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Fluency in French and good working level of English.
