Financial & Accounting Manager

The Financial & Accounting Manager is responsible for the day-to-day leadership and oversight of Barcelona studio’s finance and accounting operations. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective budget control, and full compliance with both local regulations and group-level financial standards.

Working closely with internal stakeholders such as Production and HR, the Financial & Accounting Manager provides reliable financial insight to support decision-making and reports directly to the Studio Manager.

As part of Vantage Finance teams, the F&A Manager will be involved in the global financial processes of the Creative House with frequent interactions beyond the Barcelona Studio with internal finance stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee general accounting activities, including accounts payable and receivable, reconciliations, and monthly closings.

  • Prepare, coordinate, and monitor budgets and forecasts, including variance analysis.

  • Produce and present monthly financial reports for local management and HQ.

  • Ensure compliance with local accounting standards, tax regulations, and group policies.

  • Monitor and control project-related budgets, ensuring proper financial tracking and execution.

  • Coordinate internal and external audits, acting as the main financial point of contact.

  • Drive continuous improvement of financial processes, tools, and internal controls.

  • Management of the finance and accounting team.

  • Advise on and ensure compliance with Spanish financial and legal requirements related to R&D subventions and grants.

  • Manage documentation and reporting obligations for public funding programs.

  • Depending on the candidate's experience and skills, the role may also include cross-functional support for Vantage Finance reporting.

  • Leverage data-driven approaches to build business intelligence reports and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver actionable financial insights.

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, or equivalent) preferred.
  • Knowledge of IFRS and Spanish accounting standards.
  • Understanding of Spanish tax regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Outstanding communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish, both written and verbal; or willing to learn Spanish.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking capabilities.
  • Experience in implementing and improving financial processes and controls.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and financial management tools.
  • Located or willing to relocate in Barcelona.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and compliance-focused, with a proactive and collaborative mindset.
  • Prior experience managing a team a plus.
