Financial Aid Advisor

Ivy Tech Evansville seeks an experiences Financial Aid Advisor. The Financial Aid Advisor is responsible for all aspects of verifying, packaging, awarding and disbursing financial aid and programs. Provides general financial aid counseling to students. Advises students and evaluates their eligibility for financial aid in accordance with federal and state guidelines.

Major Responsibilities

  • Counsels students in person, by phone and emails regarding their financial aid.
  • Verifies financial aid files.
  • Packages and awards financial aid. Follows up on payments to students.
  • Conduct financial aid outreach to current Ivy Tech students and prospective Ivy Tech students in the local community.
  • Administer and fully utilize federal campus-based aid programs, including the Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant and the Federal Work-Study Program.
  • Assist in Veteran’s Benefits as they relate to financial aid

Hiring Range:

  • $40,000-45,000 annually based on experience

Working Hours:

  • Typical business work hours, may be adjusted during peak times.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree, preferably in a business discipline or public administration.
  • The ability to work well with others and maintain absolute confidentiality is essential.
  • Position requires a sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of college students and employees.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience administering student financial aid.
