If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for providing substantive legal support to the Eastern District of Arkansas. Typical work assignments include: Serving as a technician in the area of financial litigation and is responsible for directly and independently supporting Assistant United States Attorneys (AUSAs) by providing a wide variety of technical assistance services. Performing a wide range of technical support duties involving the processing of cases within the financial litigation function. Using a variety of automated systems to conduct research, initiate documents for debt collection actions and track debtor accounts. Using common online resources, obtains and analyzes routine financial information on debtors to determine their present and future potential ability to pay. Communicating with debtors to present options for debt payments, answering questions, explaining pertinent procedures, clarifying information, and working cases to resolution. Preparing payment plans which involve reviewing financial asset information the debtor has submitted. Performing periodic internal control audits of financial litigation and debt collection case records to ensure accuracy of program operations. Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.
