Fitness Instructor
Role Overview
We are looking for an energetic and guest-focused Fitness / Gym Instructor to join our wellness and recreation team. This role is responsible for delivering exceptional fitness services, maintaining gym and sports facilities, and ensuring guests enjoy a safe, motivating, and high-quality fitness experience throughout their stay.
You will play a key role in promoting a healthy lifestyle, providing personalized training programs, and upholding Rixos service and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver outstanding service to all guests using the fitness center and sports facilities
- Develop and conduct personalized exercise programs and one-on-one personal training sessions upon request
- Provide fitness consultations for arriving and in-house guests
- Lead and support indoor and outdoor leisure and fitness activities
- Ensure gym, sports, and fitness equipment is well maintained and in excellent working condition
- Maintain up-to-date equipment maintenance records and support preventive maintenance programs
- Ensure high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety within all fitness and leisure areas
- Monitor guest health and wellbeing, including administering medical questionnaires where required
- Manage fitness center retail operations, including stock control, inventory, and sales
- Assist guests with retail purchases and provide product recommendations
- Cover gym reception and retail areas when required
- Handle guest feedback or complaints professionally and escalate when necessary
- Maintain regular follow-up with guests to monitor progress and enhance their fitness experience
- Stay informed about current and emerging health, fitness, and wellness trends
Compliance & Standards
- Follow all Rixos policies, procedures, and operational standards
- Comply with ISO Integrated Management System requirements related to quality, health, safety, environment, and guest satisfaction
- Actively contribute to risk management, sustainability initiatives, and continuous improvement programs
- Be fully familiar with emergency procedures and prepared to respond effectively
Qualifications & Experience
- Internationally recognized Personal Training or Group Fitness Certification (ACE, NASM, ACSM, AFAA, or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar role, preferably within the hospitality or resort environment
- CPR/AED certification (mandatory)
- High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in Sports Science, Physical Education, or related field is an advantage
- Strong communication skills with a friendly and professional guest-focused approach
