Position Summary

The 5-Star Cake Decorator is responsible for creating high-quality, visually appealing cakes and desserts that meet company standards and elevate the customer experience. This role combines artistic skill, precision, and efficiency to deliver custom and display cakes while maintaining excellence in freshness, food safety, and service.

Key Responsibilities Cake Decorating & Production
  • Design and decorate cakes according to company standards and customer specifications
  • Execute a variety of decorating techniques including icing, piping, fondant, and airbrushing
  • Produce display cakes and specialty items that enhance the bakery’s visual appeal
  • Ensure all products meet quality, consistency, and presentation standards
Customer Service
  • Work directly with customers to understand custom cake requests and provide recommendations
  • Deliver a personalized, friendly experience that drives repeat business
  • Ensure orders are completed accurately, on time, and to customer expectations
  • Resolve customer concerns professionally and efficiently
Product Quality & Freshness
  • Maintain high standards for ingredient quality and product freshness
  • Follow proper dating, labeling, and storage procedures
  • Ensure all decorated products are visually appealing and free of defects
Department Support
  • Assist with bakery production tasks as needed, including prepping, baking, and packaging
  • Maintain clean, organized decorating stations and work areas
  • Support merchandising efforts by ensuring cases are full and attractive
Inventory & Supply Management
  • Monitor decorating supplies and communicate needs for replenishment
  • Minimize waste through efficient use of materials and proper planning
  • Assist with receiving and organizing bakery inventory
Food Safety & Compliance
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and health regulations
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous cake decorating experience required
  • Strong artistic ability and attention to detail
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Frequent use of hands for detailed decorating work
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs
  • Comfortable working in varying kitchen temperatures
