About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Consultant or Manager to join our team in Perth or Brisbane! Forensic accounting or audit experience preferred.

FTI Consulting’s Risk and Investigations practice, as part of the broader Forensic Litigation & Consulting segment, undertakes a wide range of engagements, including fraud, forensic accounting and misconduct investigations, fraud and scam risk management, reconstruction of accounting records, litigation support and expert witness engagements. Our clients span sectors and sizes, including major global financial institutions, mining, government, law firms and corporates.

As a Senior Consultant or Manager, you will supervise, execute and complete client engagements, with the responsibility of conducting accounting and financial analysis, and presenting your findings in reports and briefs of evidence. You will have visibility across the whole engagement, allowing you to appreciate how each aspect of the engagement comes together to deliver a high-quality final product that can withstand the scrutiny of legal procedures. In line with the complexity of the matter, you will be assisted by, and supervise the work of, junior staff. You will work directly with senior members of the team who will support and guide you throughout the engagement. Your professional development will be enhanced through internal and external training, on-the-job coaching and mentoring. You will develop a strong knowledge of legal process, especially with regard to litigation and providing expert opinions, while making use of your established analytical, accounting and finance skills.

What you will do

  • Conduct financial analysis using Microsoft Excel and other tools to solve problems
  • Review information received and identify further information required to complete the analysis
  • Analyse and interpret large volumes of information, including accounting, financial and banking records
  • Review evidence which may include emails/communications, CCTV footage, audit logs and source financial records
  • Review financial statements for compliance with Australian Accounting Standards
  • Prepare draft expert reports, client reports and presentations that detail project scope, methodology and findings
  • Interact and meet with clients, including lawyers, in house counsel and senior accounting personnel
  • Develop project planning and management skills
  • Supervise the work of junior staff and provide coaching to junior team members
  • Undertake networking and marketing activities to develop professional contacts
  • Assist senior team members with new business development activities
  • Contribute to company initiatives and team development activities

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related disciplines
  • Australia or internationally recognised professional accounting qualification
  • 3-6 years of professional accounting experience, including experience in forensic accounting and/or auditing
  • Strong understanding of, and interest in, forensic accounting
  • Proficiency in both written and spoken English required
  • Experience in writing reports
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills
  • Detailed knowledge of accounting principles
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Adaptability in a fast paced and dynamic working environment
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle and analyse complex financial information
  • Experience of leading small teams
  • Ability to work on multiple client matters at one time
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Ability to work with senior team members and the client in demanding, deadline-driven situations
  • Strong work ethic and integrity, and high level of professionalism
  • Willingness to travel for work

Compensation

Minimum Pay:$88,000.00
Maximum Pay:$110,000.00

Compensation Disclosure: The compensation range reflects potential base salary for the role and is inclusive of Superannuation. Determination of actual salary is based on a combination of relevant factors such as market considerations, business needs, and an individual’s location, skills, level of experience and qualifications.
