What You'll Do
- Inspect, maintain, and repair school buses, motor coaches, and support vehicles to ensure safe and reliable operation.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and performance issues quickly and accurately.
- Perform preventative maintenance including oil changes, filter cleanings and changes, fluid services, brake inspections, tire maintenance, and scheduled servicing.
- Complete repairs on diesel engines, air brake systems, suspension components, HVAC systems, and related equipment.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and parts usage documentation.
- Coordinate with operations personnel to ensure vehicles are available and road-ready.
- Conduct vehicle inspections and identify potential issues before they become major repairs.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to assist with breakdowns and emergency maintenance needs when required.
What We're Looking For
- Experience working with diesel engines, buses, commercial vehicles, trucks, or heavy equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of repairs from diagnosis to completion.
- Familiarity with diagnostic software, electronic troubleshooting tools, and modern vehicle systems.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Positive attitude and willingness to work collaboratively with drivers, dispatchers, and management.
- Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.
- Ability to learn new systems and adapt as our company continues to grow.
- Available to be on call when necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
- CDL Class B or higher with air brake, and passenger endorsements.
- Previous bus, motor coach, school bus, or commercial fleet experience.
- ASE certifications or equivalent experience.
- Experience with preventative maintenance programs.
