The Food Pantry Associate’s plays a crucial role in the daily operations of the pantry. They assist the Pantry Manager in ensuring smooth operations, maintain pantry standards and guidelines, and assist in purchasing food items as needed. Additionally, they support the Pantry Manager in training volunteers and ensuring the pantry runs efficiently. This position is essential for maintaining the pantry's functionality and providing a welcoming environment for community members.

What You’ll Do

  • Aide the Pantry Manager with the daily operations of the YMCA Coatesville Food Pantry to ensure efficient, safe, and welcoming service delivery.
  • Help with coordinating and managing food distribution schedules, inventory, and restocking procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety guidelines, health regulations, and YMCA policies.
  • Help recruit, train, schedule, and supervise volunteers to assist with food pantry operations.
  • Develop community partnerships to secure food donations, sponsorships, and in-kind support.
  • Assist with maintaining accurate records of food inventory, participant data, and program reporting requirements.
  • Communicate effectively and courteously with pantry participants, staff, and community partners.
  • Promote YMCA programs and services to pantry participants and the broader community.
  • Create and manage staff and volunteer schedules to ensure full operational coverage.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and risk-free environment for food distribution and storage.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
