Food Service Assistant - 32 hours

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES may include but are not limited to the following: Other duties may be assigned.

Patient Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Menu collection using proper procedures in regard to patient privacy
  • Accurate tray assembly according to menu and tray diagram
  • Distribution of accurate trays with appropriate donning of PPE if indicated

Quality, Safety and Regulatory Compliance:

  • Checking patient identifiers prior to passing food items to patients
  • Dish machine operation and sanitation as per procedures
  • Pot washing and maintenance of appropriate pot sink concentration
  • Following isolation precaution procedures
  • Providing sanitation as per cleaning schedules and operational need
  • Properly uses chemicals and provides safe care of equipment
  • Maintains competency for emergency preparedness

Customer Service:

  • Provision of excellent customer service and communication to supervisors, staff and patients
  • Escalates any issues to supervisor, dietitians or managers
  • Setting up the cafeteria line including replenishment of cafeteria items as needed
  • Properly handling cash, limiting overages or underage of $3; proper cash out procedures
  • Assists and contributes to patient satisfaction goals by providing quality service

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • High School diploma or GED preferred.
    • 3-6 months of related experience and/or training preferred

    WORK SCHEDULE:

    32 hours days

    Every other weekend and holiday required.
