The Opportunity:
We are hiring three Food Service Worker Lead roles within Dining Services: Production (Culinary Support Center), Utility (Northside Café), and Float (Hillside Café). While all positions share responsibility for supporting food service operations, maintaining sanitation standards, and fostering a positive work environment, each has a distinct focus. The Production Lead supports efficient food preparation and service, the Utility Lead oversees dishwashing and sanitation processes while leading staff, and the Float Lead collaborates with culinary teams on food preparation, presentation, and inventory management.

Additional Information:
This is a full time (100% FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime eligible.
Utility is a 9-month cyclic appointment, for fiscal year 2026-2027 they would be working July 27 – December 18, 2026 and January 4 – May 15, 2027.
Production is a 11-month cyclic appointment, for fiscal year 2026-2027 they would be working June 1 – December 12, 2026 and January 4 – May 15, 2027.
Float is a 11-month cyclic appointment, for fiscal year 2026-2027 they would be working July 6 – December 18, 2026; January 4 – May 15, 2027, and June 2-June 26, 2027.
Monthly Salary: $3,752 to $4,428 | Range 37 Step F - M | Successful candidates are typically hired at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with the applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement.
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Requirements Qualifications:
Possession of, or eligible for, a food handler’s permit AND one year of experience in quantity or institutional food preparation AND serving, which includes six months experience directing the work of others; OR equivalent education/experience.
Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, holidays, and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications:
Two to five years food service experience.
Multi-faceted food experience.
Experience leading and training employees.
General knowledge of commercial grade kitchen equipment use, safety, and maintenance.
