Forward Deployed Engineer

What You'll Do:

We are looking for a senior, customer-facing Forward Deployed Engineer to work directly with our customers on-site to design, build, and deploy solutions that power their end-to-end quote-to-cash workflows. This role sits at the intersection of product, engineering, and customer success, and is critical to ensuring our platform delivers real, measurable outcomes in complex, real-world environments.

Unlike traditional implementation roles, this position requires a high degree of ownership, technical depth, and business understanding. You will not only implement solutions, you will define them.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner directly with customers (often on-site) to understand their business processes, pain points, and requirements across the quote-to-cash lifecycle
  • Design and build custom solutions on top of the Nue platform to address complex, ambiguous use cases
  • Own the end-to-end delivery of customer solutions (from discovery and design through deployment and iteration)
  • Translate business requirements into technical implementations, including integrations, workflows, and automation
  • Work closely with Product and Engineering to surface gaps, influence roadmap, and help shape the evolution of the platform
  • Collaborate with Product Engineers to transition custom solutions into scalable, reusable product capabilities
  • Act as a trusted technical advisor to customers, guiding best practices and ensuring long-term success

What You'll Bring:

  • 5–10+ years of experience in a technical, customer-facing role (e.g., solutions engineering, forward deployed engineering, technical consulting)
  • Strong understanding of quote-to-cash processes (CPQ, billing, revenue, ERP/CRM integrations)
  • Proven ability to design and build solutions in ambiguous environments with minimal structure
  • Hands-on technical experience (e.g., APIs, scripting, data modeling, integrations)
  • Experience working directly with enterprise customers and senior stakeholders
  • Ability and willingness to work on-site with customers as needed (with primary focus on San Francisco and New York)
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to bridge technical and business audiences

Why This Role:

  • Not a traditional implementation role - you will define and solve problems that don’t yet have standard solutions
  • High ownership - you are responsible for the customer outcome, not just delivery tasks
  • Deep product influence - your work directly informs what gets built into the core platform
  • On the ground with customers - you will be embedded in real customer environments, solving real problems
