Freight Specialist

This role sits at the core of a fast-moving logistics and fulfillment operation, ensuring freight shipments are executed smoothly, efficiently, and on time across multiple business flows. You will be responsible for coordinating LTL, partial, and full truckload shipments while actively monitoring carrier performance and resolving disruptions before they impact service levels. The environment is high-intensity, detail-driven, and highly collaborative, with constant interaction across operations, carrier partners, and internal teams. You will play a key role in optimizing freight costs, improving delivery performance, and maintaining service reliability at scale. This position requires strong operational awareness, quick decision-making, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in real time. It is ideal for someone who thrives in structured execution environments where accountability and speed directly impact customer experience.
Accountabilities:
- Book and manage LTL, partial, and full truckload (FTL) shipments across internal transfers, client orders, inbound, and B2B freight flows
- Monitor carrier performance closely, proactively identifying and resolving service disruptions or potential delays
- Optimize freight costs by selecting the most efficient carriers using internal tools and operational guidelines
- Review open orders and adjust load plans based on shipment attributes such as weight, pallet count, origin, destination, and delivery timelines
- Track missed pickups and deliveries, ensuring timely recovery and resolution of rolled or delayed shipments
- Respond to freight-related inquiries and escalations from internal teams and external clients in a timely manner
- Maintain operational reports and ensure accurate tracking of freight performance metrics
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, carrier partners, and support teams to ensure seamless execution of shipments
- Ensure compliance with food safety, operational standards, and transportation regulations
- Prior experience in logistics, freight operations, transportation coordination, or supply chain roles (TMS experience preferred)
- Strong analytical skills with ability to work with reports, Excel/Google Sheets, and operational data
- Familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS) and freight booking workflows
- Excellent multitasking ability across multiple tools, systems, and shipment queues simultaneously
- Strong problem-solving mindset with ability to act quickly in high-pressure situations
- Clear verbal and written communication skills for coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to work in a structured shift schedule (evening/night IST with flexibility based on business needs and DST adjustments)
