School of Business Profile
The School of Business at the American International University in Kuwait comprises three departments: Accounting, Finance, and Management. The School offers a BSc in Accounting, a BSc in Business Administration, and a BSc in Finance.
Scope of Work
The Dean of the School of Business provides strategic, academic, and administrative leadership to deliver high-quality business education at AIU. The Dean will shape curricula, foster faculty development and research, build industry partnerships, and guide the School through accreditation and growth as part of AIU’s evolving academic portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership and management for the School of Business, including faculty, academic programs, and administrative operations.
- Lead curriculum development, program assessment, and continuous improvement to ensure academic excellence and market relevance.
- Manage budgeting, resource allocation, and strategic planning.
- Oversee faculty recruitment, development, mentoring, and performance management.
- Promote research and scholarly activity among faculty and students.
- Maintain and engage the Business Advisory Committee to align programs with industry needs and employer expectations.
- Lead accreditation and quality assurance processes, including familiarity with U.S. accreditation frameworks such as AACSB.
- Ensure accurate external communications, including the School’s website and public materials.
- Strengthen industry partnerships, internships, and experiential learning opportunities.
- Represent the School in university leadership and institutional strategic initiatives.
- Promote student success, retention, progression, and employability through data-informed leadership.

Minimum Qualifications:
The ideal candidate shall demonstrate experience in professional and academic positions, a strong record in teaching, and outstanding academic achievements at the international level. The candidate is expected to demonstrate ongoing contributions in their field through published research in recognized international scientific journals, as well as participation in exhibitions, conferences, and symposiums, in addition to possessing the following qualifications and experience:
- Ph.D. or equivalent from a recognized university.
- Professor rank in one of the School's disciplines.
- Strong record of excellence in teaching and research appropriate to the rank of professor.
- Leadership qualities and proven research background.
- Clear vision for higher education and School development.
- Familiarity with the credit hour and semester system.
- Senior managerial experience in higher education, preferably at dean level.
- Experience in institutional/programmatic accreditation, assessment, quality assurance, and continuous improvement.
- Knowledge of HR, administrative, and financial concepts, practices, policies, and procedures.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience communicating with academic, professional, and industry institutions.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Arabic (spoken and written) is a plus.
- Experience in American or internationally accredited higher education systems is preferred.

- Experience leading, maintaining, or preparing for AACSB accreditation is highly desirable.
