We are looking for a Gardener to join our team at our Retirement Living Village in Narrabeen. You will look after general gardening activities across our Retirement Village to ensure the grounds are always looking and operating at their absolute best.
Hours are:
- Mondays - Thursdays - 7am - 3:30pm
- Fridays - 7am-1:30pm
A bit about your new role:
Create new gardens using your existing skills and horticultural knowledge
Care for indoor plants, including recycling and re‑potting schedules
Maintain nursery stock to ensure healthy and well‑presented plants
Maintain gardens and grounds, including watering, raking and lawn mowing
Tend to aviaries, ponds and garden features to keep them clean and functioning
Clean paths and common areas to ensure safe and tidy shared spaces
Collect and dispose of garden waste (and general waste when required)
Remove leaves and twigs, including clearing road gutters where relevant
Maintain gardening equipment and ensure all tools are kept in good working order
Secure tools and equipment used across gardens and grounds
A bit about you:
Basic working knowledge of quality systems as they relate to gardening services.
Demonstrated ability to work within a team and to take direction.
Competent written and verbal communication skills.
Basic computer literacy.
Demonstrated compassion, tolerance, patience and empathy for aged people.
Willing to learn about aged care and the principles guiding this sector
Ability to interact with the residents on a day-to-day basis and have a genuine interest in their wellbeing
