Gas Engineer (Ship)
- Cargo Operations: Operates cargo compressors, pumps, reliquefaction plants, and gas combustion units.
- Cargo Monitoring: Manages cargo tank pressure and temperature, particularly essential for cryogenic LNG (-161°C).
- Maintenance: Repairs and tests deck-side cargo machinery, gas detection systems, and ESD (Emergency Shutdown) systems.
- Compliance: Maintains accurate cargo logs, machinery history records, and ensures compliance with IGC codes (International Gas Carrier code).
- Safety: Monitors inner hull spaces, oversees inert gas generation, and ensures cargo safety during transit, loading, and discharging.
- Physical/Personal: High attention to detail, analytical skills, and physical fitness
- Certificates: Class One or specialized license, and STCW Advanced Training for Liquefied Gas Tanker Cargo Operations (IGC Code).
- Experience: Prior experience on LPG or LNG carriers is required.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of gas cargo properties, cryogenic systems, and tanker safety protocols.
