The gatehouse serves as the first point of contact for everyone entering the property. It plays an important role in shaping the overall member experience by combining a warm, professional welcome with a strong focus on safety and security.
Position Summary
The Gatehouse Attendant is responsible for maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming entry experience for members, guests, and staff. This role involves monitoring access to the property, assisting visitors, and maintaining a visible and professional presence at all times.
This position is well suited for individuals with experience in security, customer service, school or campus environments, or public service roles. It is also a strong fit for retired law enforcement professionals or individuals seeking a structured and meaningful seasonal position.
Successful candidates are attentive, approachable, and confident in handling a variety of situations while maintaining professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
Access Control and Member Interaction
- Greet members and guests in a friendly and professional manner upon arrival
- Verify credentials and manage entry to ensure only authorized individuals access the property
- Provide directions and assist with general inquiries about the Club
Safety and Security Monitoring
- Maintain a consistent presence at the gatehouse and surrounding areas
- Conduct routine patrols of the clubhouse, parking areas, and grounds
- Observe and report any unusual activity, safety concerns, or policy violations
- Monitor and enforce Club policies related to access and property use
Emergency Response and Incident Management
- Respond promptly and calmly to emergencies including medical incidents, alarms, and disturbances
- Follow established emergency procedures and coordinate with management or local authorities when needed
- Provide CPR or First Aid when required
Communication and Documentation
- Maintain accurate daily logs of activity, incidents, and patrols
- Communicate important updates or concerns to Club leadership in a timely manner
- Work closely with staff across departments to ensure a safe and coordinated environment
