GenAI Engineer (f/m/div.)

As a GenAI Engineer, you will design, prototype, and implement AI agents that enhance and automate engineering workflows across Bosch. You will translate complex engineering use cases into intelligent, reliable, and compliant GenAI solutions that accelerate innovation and improve efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement GenAI agents to support engineering tasks such as requirements analysis, documentation assistance, test interpretation, and failure analysis.
  • Build and maintain AI pipelines using LLMs, embeddings, vector databases, and domain-specific knowledge sources.
  • Integrate AI agents with engineering tools, databases, and repositories (e.g., PLM systems, test data platforms, document management systems).
  • Develop Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines for structured and semi-structured engineering data.
  • Ensure agent reliability, traceability, and safe behavior in regulated engineering environments.
  • Collaborate with domain experts to evaluate usability, performance, and fitness for purpose.
  • Document system architectures, APIs, integration points, and operational guidelines.
  • Work closely with security and compliance teams to ensure responsible and compliant AI usage.

Education

  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.

Experience

  • Experience in GenAI development, agent orchestration, or AI-assisted tooling.
  • Solid software engineering background (Python preferred; experience with APIs and microservices).
  • Experience working with structured and semi-structured data (JSON, PDFs, engineering documentation, etc.).

Know-how

  • Strong understanding of LLM integration patterns, embeddings, and vector databases.
  • Knowledge of agent frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex, OpenAI Agents, CrewAI, Swarm, MCP).
  • Experience with MLOps, AI observability, evaluation frameworks, or model deployment is a plus.
  • Familiarity with PLM systems, engineering workflows, or compliance standards in automotive/industrial environments is an advantage.

Languages

  • Proficient in English (German is a plus).

Working Style & Methods

  • Structured, reliable, and solution-oriented working style.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Comfortable working in iterative and experimental environments.

Personality

  • Curious, proactive, and eager to explore new technologies.
  • Strong communication skills and collaborative mindset.
  • Open to learning and working with diverse teams and perspectives.
