General Building Operator

SUMMARY

BGIS is dedicated to safeguarding critical environments through advanced preventive maintenance and building automation systems. We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Building Operator Millwright with a strong foundation in Electrical and Mechanical to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a valid trade certificate and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Preventive Maintenance and Repair of HVAC System’s

  • Read and interpret drawings,
  • Practice safe work habits by installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining industrial equipment, ensuring compliance to all applicable safety regulation.
  • Able to work independently with limited supervision, perform all work in compliance with company safety and housekeeping standards.
  • Able to write maintenance and job-specific technical reports.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of maintenance records, and incident reports.
  • Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance of HVAC equipment including but not limited to, fan coil units, fan power boxes, force fan heats.
  • Installation, maintenance, and repair of mechnical equipment.
  • Maintenance of building automation systems including knowledge of Johnson Controls MetaSys Building environment platform.

Communication and Documentation

  • Collaborate with coworker to address maintenance issue collectively.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of system configurations, maintenance records.
  • Adhere to strict security protocols and confidentiality requirements.
  • Take on new initiatives and challenges (quickly adapt to change) with a positive attitude; and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Best Practices Current Knowledge

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • Proven experience as a Millwright and has extensive knowledge in mechnical attributes.
  • In-depth knowledge of building automation systems, including all aspects of HVAC equipment.
  • Understanding of building automation systems and their interaction with security infrastructure.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across multiple systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.

Licenses and/or Professional Accreditation

  • Possess relevant certifications, Industrial and or Construction Millwright 433A.

This is a regular, full time position with a salary range of $52,864 - $66,080 per annum. The starting salary will be based on the successful candidate’s competencies, including but not limited to experience, education and performance related to this role.
