General Clinical Faculty
Overview
Reporting directly to the Clinical Practice Leader (CPL) at the Touro College of Dental Medicine's clinic in Albuquerque New Mexico, with a dotted line to the Director of Clinical Education, and the Executive Assistant Dean of Clinical Affairs, clinical faculty are responsible for direct patient care and mentoring/teaching students.
Responsibilities
- Quality and quantity of clinical care
- Each student's practice and patient resources
- Each student's individual roster and group progress
- Student's ability to establish and reach patient treatment goals
- Determination of individual student needs and related time utilization
- Ensuring the clinical protocols are being followed in their clinical areas
- Infection Control Compliance
Qualifications
Education/Experience
- Required Qualifications
- D.D.S./DMD from a CODA-accredited dental school or equivalent.
- Dental License Registration; must be eligible for licensure in the state of New Mexico.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Certificate of training from an ADA-accredited AEGD or GPR program, and/or other advanced degrees.
- DEA number.
- Previous teaching experience.
- A track record of scholarly activity and outstanding patient care, as well as demonstration of or likely commitment to diversity-related teaching/research/service.
- Engagement and familiarity in curriculum development and digital dentistry technology and experience in faculty calibration.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to maintain and uphold an educational/clinical environment that promotes collegiality and collaboration.
- Demonstrated professionalism and high ethical standards in a health science educational setting is essential.
