General Manager, Industrial Coatings SEA

You will lead one of our highest-growth commercial platforms in Asia Pacific — spanning Vietnam, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, and Myanmar. This is a rare opportunity to step into a critical P&L leadership role with full commercial accountability for a complex, and fast-growing regional business. You will lead a talented team across 7 dynamic SEA markets, drive a bold growth agenda, and shape the future of PPG's Industrial Coatings presence in the region. You will be reporting to President, PPG AP, and Vice President, Industrial Coatings, Asia Pacific and Global Consumer Products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive Business Growth & Profitability

  • Own the full P&L (~USD 60M) across SEA, delivering revenue, volume, margin, and EBIT targets

  • Build and execute short- and long-term commercial strategies across General Industrial, Coil & Extrusion, and Powder, Wood Coatings segments

  • Identify and capture whitespace opportunities across existing and new markets

  • Win & Grow Key Accounts

  • Develop and execute strategic account plans for regional key accounts

  • Negotiate high-value contracts and secure long-term commercial partnerships

  • Personally lead senior customer relationships — from plant floor to boardroom

  • Build & Lead a High-Performing Team

  • Inspire, coach, and develop a commercial team across six countries

  • Drive a culture of accountability, customer champion, and commercial excellence

  • Build succession depth and career pathways for high performers

  • Collaborate Across the Business

  • Partner closely with Regional Segment Leads, Science & Technology, Operations, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Marketing to deliver integrated, value-based solutions

  • Contribute as a senior leader within the IC APAC leadership team

  • Champion PPG's EH&S and compliance standards and corporate values across all markets

Qualifications

  • 12–15 years in coatings, specialty chemicals, or related industries

  • Bachelor's degree in Materials, Chemistry, or Chemical Engineering; MBA

  • Proven track record managing multi-country P&L at minimum USD 40M+ scale

  • Deep understanding of SEA business environments; Vietnam experiences a strong advantage

  • Experience governing and developing distributor networks across diverse markets

  • Fluent in English; additional SEA language proficiency is a strong advantage
