The Role
We have an opening for a Physics Engineer to join our rapidly growing team at Stellar Entertainment to work on an exciting new project.
If creating believable, physically accurate worlds pushing the next level of video games is your passion, then this role could be for you. Reporting to the Lead Physics Engineer and partnering with our Creative Director and gameplay teams, your code will create realism within our high-quality titles.
An exciting new project is taking shape at Stellar. You'll be joining a specialist team who are ready to explore technical innovations and optimisations.
As a Senior Generalist & Physics Engineer, you will:
Work across a broad range of disciplines including gameplay, systems, engine and physics to successfully optimise code, ready for target platforms
Design and implement vehicle-related systems
Profiling, benchmarking, and optimising code across CPU
Identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks
Collaborating with designers and producers to tune handling feel
Working with platform engineers to exploit hardware capabilities and hit performance targets across all target platforms
Reviewing and providing feedback on colleagues' code, and contributing to a high engineering standard across the team
Picking up unfamiliar systems quickly, getting up to speed, and leaving things better than you found them
Requirements
What we’re looking to see on your CV:
Experience in a Senior C++ engineering role, in the games industry. Ideally this will be working on AAA or optimisation projects.
Proficient in C++ and familiar with both object-oriented and data-oriented programming.
Strong knowledge of game engines
Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of 3D Maths and Physics.
Experience with source control systems and collaborative development.
Good problem-solving and debugging skills.
Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
Passion for video games and familiarity with various game genres.
Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
