About the Role

As the Geographical Security & Business Continuity Manager for North Asia, you will be the primary Security and Business Continuity expert across Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Northeast Asia. You will lead Business Continuity Management and crisis preparedness, deliver security intelligence and travel security advisory, and produce high-quality reporting and briefings for senior leadership. While English is the primary working language, the ability to engage with local stakeholders is an advantage. This role suits a dynamic professional who is comfortable operating across diverse geographies, building cross-functional relationships, and communicating complex security matters clearly and concisely to business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Business Continuity & Crisis Management

  • Lead BCM ensuring all sites maintain updated BIAs and BCPs aligned with Maersk standards and local regulatory requirements.
  • Develop, test, and continuously improve Business Continuity Plans and Crisis Management frameworks.
  • Support delivery of Business Impact Analysis exercises and ensure cluster teams are trained and prepared for incident response.
  • Drive the Predict, Prevent, Respond, and Recover framework across Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Northeast Asia.

Loss Prevention & Threat Management

  • Lead loss prevention strategies across Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Northeast Asia covering cargo, operations, and personnel security.
  • Conduct foresight and threat assessments for all sites and business proposals, including loss trend analysis.
  • Monitor and report on security performance dashboards, delivering timely incident management support.
  • Lead or support internal security investigations, including cargo theft, fraud, and misconduct, maintaining chain of custody and investigative integrity.
  • Support Illicit Cargo and Contraband initiatives in alignment with the Special Operations team.

Security Intelligence & Travel Security

  • Monitor and assess the regional security landscape, including geopolitical developments, threat trends, and emerging risks.
  • Deliver timely, accurate security intelligence briefings to business leaders and the regional S&R leadership team.
  • Manage travel security protocols, including Duty of Care (DoC) compliance for business travellers, high-risk travel authorisation, and relocation security requirements.
  • Conduct threat and risk assessments for new business proposals, site reviews, and regional operations.
  • Reporting & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Produce clear, concise, and impactful security and BC reports and briefings for leadership, regional HQ, and relevant governance forums.
  • Serve as the primary PoC for all Security and BC matters across the cluster, including for KCMs, business leaders, and local S&R communities.
  • Engage with government authorities, law enforcement, and industry bodies across Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Northeast Asia.
  • Update and maintain security performance dashboards and incident tracking systems.
  • Compliance & Capability Building

  • Rollout S&BR standardisation and management frameworks across cluster sites, ensuring quality compliance and operational effectiveness.
  • Mentor and upskill local Security and BC Business Partners across the cluster.
  • Ensure Duty of Care security measures — including local security protocols, and HSSE alignment are implemented consistently.

What We're Looking For

Essential Requirements

  • 6+ years' experience in Security at country, Area, or global level.
  • Strong expertise in Business Continuity Management (BCM) and Crisis Management.
  • Experience working across multiple geographies within Asia, particularly Hong Kong, Taiwan, and/or Northeast Asia.
  • Proven ability to produce high-quality, concise written reports and executive briefings.
  • Solid understanding of security intelligence analysis and travel security advisory.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage senior leaders and cross-functional teams.
  • Education or certification in BCM (e.g. CBCI, ISO 22301) and/or Security management.
  • Fluent English- essential for reporting, regional coordination, and stakeholder engagement.

Preferred / Advantageous

  • 4+ years' experience in BCM at country or Area level, ideally within logistics, transportation, or a multinational corporate environment.
  • Familiarity with supply chain security frameworks such as TAPA, C-TPAT, or AEO.
  • Proficiency in Cantonese, Mandarin, or other regional languages is advantageous but not required.
  • Experience with geopolitical risk analysis and security intelligence platforms.
  • Background in emergency/crisis management and/or risk consulting.
  • Certification in risk management, emergency planning, or related discipline (e.g. BCI, ASIS CPP).
