Global Process Engineer - Assembly & Disassembly
Job Description Summary
The Global Process Engineer (GPE) will work closely with the Global Manufacturing Engineering Leader, the primary focus area will be developing and deploying global standards that improve the reliability, availability, and performance of Aero Alliance’s manufacturing equipment and processes. They will analyze data, and work cross-functionally to implement proactive measures that improve processes. This person will also be responsible for cost reduction through standardization of equipment and processes, establishing standards, and ensuring adherence to these standards. They will also be a focal point for new technology introductions, asset transfers, new process introductions; inclusive of lead time, technology selection and recommendations for fixturing, tooling, process, control plans, and qualifications of manufacturing assets. The GPE will coach and influence a dotted-line organization, comprised of factory manufacturing engineers across the Aero Alliance factories. Critical to the role is leveraging analytical skills, the lean methodology and the guiding principle of creating process standards for equipment (“One Product One Process”) to drive SQDC in line with business and functional objectives. The candidate chosen for this position will acquire strong technical knowledge and extensive exposure to manufacturing, engineering, quality, and safe process development. Roles and Responsibilities
- Develop, Qualify, and Improve manufacturing processes. Define global process standards and equipment standards and deploy them across the Aero Alliance factories, partnering with local factory technical leaders.
- Define, control, communicate global processes for manufacturing assets, including: facility integration, acceptance testing, machine health checks & calibrations, preventative maintenance plans, spare parts strategy, technical & technology training.
- Validate engineering specifications and shop floor application of new processes. Including EHS, Manufacturing Engineers, Engineering, Quality, Materials, Industrialization, Materials, and Sourcing.
- Partner with channels on the development of new repair processes and qualifications.
- Develop and implement reliability improvement strategies using industry best practices such as FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
- Collaborate with maintenance, operations, engineering, and safety teams to design and implement preventive and predictive programs.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing equipment downtime and improve quality processes.
- Lead investigations into failures and chronic issues, identifying root causes and implementing robust corrective actions to eliminate the problems from re-occurring.
- Provide technical support for asset management, including equipment life cycle analysis and spare parts optimization.
- Train local factory manufacturing engineers to deepen their expertise in process and equipment.
- Participate in the design and installation of new equipment and implementation of processes, ensuring reliability is considered from the outset (Design for Reliability).
- Interprets internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes or services. Stays informed of industry trends that may inform work.
- Uses high level of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems in areas of operational, product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering. Has ability to assess quality of information given and ask pertinent questions to stakeholders. Able to offer new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and can construct and provide recommendations. Uses multiple internal and some external sources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision.
- Will lead functional teams or projects with minimal resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity. Communicates difficult concepts and may influence others' options on particular topics. May guide others to consider a different point of view.
Additional Requirements
- Engage design for Six Sigma methodology (DFSS), including, measuring existing machine capability, analyzing process requirements, and developing a strategy to maintain / improve process yield.
- Deploy lean principles, including, 3P (Production Preparation Process), Total Productive Maintenance, Jidoka, PQ/PR, Takt Cycle, Standard Work, Value Stream Maps, Kaizen, 4D/8D/A3 Problem Solving, and Poka Yoke.
Required Qualifications (US)
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college
- 7+ years of industrial experience in manufacturing or quality
- 5+ years of experience in a technical role (manufacturing engineer or similar) with expertise in assembly process’ of aerospace engines or power plant turbines
- Strong knowledge of engineering concepts and quality processes
- Ability to interpret blueprints, specifications, drawings, and schematics
- Project Management skills and experience

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $104,600.00 and $174,400.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
