Hardware Engineer – E-bike / Cargo (f/m/d) - Berlin

As a Hardware Engineer, you will help shape the technical development of a new cargo e-bike concept from first idea to production readiness, working on the mechanics and components that keep our riders safe and on the road.
- Designing and developing mechanical components for e-bikes / cargo bikes
- Selecting and evaluating components and suppliers (e.g. drivetrain, frame, brakes, electronics interfaces)
- Creating technical specifications, drawings and requirement documents
- Conducting and evaluating tests and prototype trials
- Collaborating with external manufacturing and development partners
- Ensuring compliance with quality, safety and standards (e.g. EN 15194)
- Coordinating closely with Product Management and Operations on requirements from fleet operations
- Degree in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering or similar, or comparable qualification
- Professional experience developing mechanical components, ideally for bicycles, e-bikes or light vehicles
- Confident use of CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks, Creo, Fusion 360)
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and material properties
- Structured, solution-oriented way of working with attention to detail
- Good German and English skills
- Nice to have
- Experience collaborating with suppliers and manufacturing partners
- Experience with e-bike standards and certification processes
- Knowledge of electrical/electronics integration in e-bikes
