Hawker (Wanton Mee)

Job Summary

Assist in the daily operations of a Wanton Mee stall, including food preparation, cooking support, order taking, customer service, cashiering, and maintaining cleanliness and food safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare ingredients such as noodles, vegetables, char siew, wantons, and sauces.
  • Cook and assemble Wanton Mee according to established recipes and standards.
  • Take customer orders and process payments.
  • Serve food promptly and courteously.
  • Replenish ingredients and supplies throughout operating hours.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the stall, equipment, and work areas.
  • Follow food hygiene and safety regulations.
  • Assist with opening and closing duties, including stock checks and cleaning.
  • Handle customer inquiries and feedback professionally.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in hawker stalls, food service, or kitchen operations is an advantage.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good teamwork and communication skills.
  • Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods.
  • Basic food hygiene knowledge; food hygiene certification preferred.
  • Willing to work weekends, public holidays, and flexible shifts.

Preferred Qualities

  • Passion for local hawker food.
  • Ability to prepare noodles and simple cooking tasks independently.
  • Friendly and customer-oriented attitude.

Working Conditions

  • Location: Hawker Centre / Food Court
  • Working Hours: Shift-based, including weekends and public holidays
  • Salary: Competitive, based on experience
