About the Role

Tanjong Pagar United FC is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Head Coach to lead the First Team in the Singapore Premier League (SPL).

The Head Coach will be responsible for all aspects of team performance, including tactical planning, training methodology, player selection, and match-day management in accordance with Football Association of Singapore (FAS) and SPL regulations.

This is a senior leadership position requiring elite coaching qualifications, strong tactical understanding, and the ability to manage a professional high-performance football environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct, manage, and take full responsibility for the performance of the First Team in the Singapore Premier League
• Plan, design, and implement all training programmes, match preparation, and seasonal performance strategies
• Select players in consultation with the Assistant Coach and General Manager
• Conduct tactical analysis of matches and opponents, and implement game strategies
• Oversee player development, performance monitoring, and continuous assessment
• Scout and evaluate players through league matches and local competitions
• Maintain discipline, professionalism, and high standards within the squad on and off the pitch
• Provide individual and team feedback to improve technical, tactical, physical, and mental performance
• Work closely with medical, fitness, and technical staff on player health and performance management
• Prepare and submit monthly performance and activity reports to Club Management
• Maintain detailed records of injuries, player availability, and training attendance
• Ensure compliance with Singapore Premier League and FAS rules and regulations
• Represent the Club professionally in official functions, coaching clinics, and approved media engagements
• Foster a positive team culture focused on discipline, accountability, and high performance

Requirements

• AFC Pro Diploma (or equivalent UEFA Pro Licence)
• At least 5 years of coaching experience at professional or elite level (preferred)
• Proven experience managing or assisting a professional first team
• Strong understanding of modern football tactics, systems, and high-performance coaching
• Experience in player development, talent identification, and squad building
• Ability to lead, motivate, and manage players in a competitive environment
• Strong analytical skills including match and performance analysis
• Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making abilities
• Strong knowledge of player discipline, psychology, and performance management
• Ability to work under pressure and meet competitive performance targets
• High level of professionalism, integrity, and commitment to club standards
• Must comply with all AFC, FAS, and Singapore Premier League regulations
