How will I help?
This is an opportunity to shape the future of compliance across a significant portion of Westpac’s customer businesses.
As Head of Compliance for Westpac’s Private Wealth, SME, Small Business & Business Transaction Banking lines of business, you'll provide strategic leadership across a diverse portfolio, partnering with senior executives to help deliver safe, sustainable, and customer-focused outcomes. You'll be a trusted adviser, bringing deep regulatory expertise, commercial judgement, and the confidence to provide constructive challenge where it matters most.
Leading a team of compliance professionals, you'll influence key business decisions, guide complex regulatory and risk matters, and help ensure Westpac continues to meet the expectations of customers, regulators, and the communities we serve. You'll work at the intersection of strategy, governance, risk, and transformation. Your role will see you supporting new initiatives, driving effective implementation of regulatory change, and strengthening compliance capability across the organisation.
This is a highly visible leadership role where your ability to build trusted relationships, navigate complexity, and inspire high-performing teams will be critical. You'll engage with senior leaders across the Bank, contribute to enterprise-wide initiatives, and play a key role in fostering a culture where accountability, integrity, and customer outcomes are front and centre.

What do I need?
- Significant leadership experience in Compliance, within Private Wealth, Business Banking, Financial Services, or a regulatory environment.
- Deep knowledge of the Australian regulatory landscape, including the Corporations Act, APRA standards, and obligations relevant to retail and wholesale banking customers.
- Proven ability to influence senior executives, provide credible strategic advice, and lead through complexity, ambiguity, and organisational change.
- A track record of building and leading high-performing teams, developing capability, and creating a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Strong commercial judgement, executive presence, and the ability to balance risk, customer outcomes, and business objectives to deliver sustainable results.
