Head of HR, Asia Pacific
Main Purpose of Role
To serve as a strategic partner to the APAC leadership team and overseeing the full spectrum of HR functions across Australasia, Greater China, India, Japan, Korea and Southeast Asia. This role is responsible for driving business success through organizational growth, talent attraction, development and engagement and creating a safe and inclusive environment for all colleagues.
Key Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Strategic HR Leadership
- Drive and implement HR strategies aligned with APAC business goals and STS/Group HR objectives
- Act as a voice for APAC with STS/Group HR through influence and insights
- Serve as a trusted advisor to APAC and operating company (OpCo) leadership teams on all people-related matters; proactively identify and act on issues identified
- Lead and partner with other business units (GESTRA, Supply) in support of in-country HR shared services
- Drive headcount planning, organizational design and change management initiatives to support business growth
Talent Acquisition & Management
- Oversee end-to-end talent acquisition for key GM/leadership and critical roles for the region
- Partner with business leaders to identify, develop and retain high-potential talent and succession pipelines
Performance, Learning & Rewards
- Advocate a positive/high-performance culture and manage its related processes and systems
- Oversee compensation and benefits approaches ensuring market competitiveness while maintaining cost efficiency. Include implementation of global grading and salary structures in APAC
- Partner with the business to build current and future capability needs to achieve business growth
Employee Engagement & Culture
- Champion safety, diversity, inclusion, equity and well-being initiatives across the region
- Partner with Opcos on colleague engagement, allowing all colleagues to bring their best self to work;fostering a positive and productive workplace culture
HR Operations & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with employment laws andlabour regulations across all OpCos
- Standardise HR processes, systems, andpolicies as needed to improve operational efficiency and consistency
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, mentor and develop the HR APAC team
- Foster collaboration,knowledge sharing and a ‘One HR’ team culture

- Member of APAC Leadership team and SteamThermal Solutions HR Leadership Team
- Total 5 functional direct reports forAustralasia, Greater China, Korea, India and South East Asia
- Geographical remit is Asia Pacific
- Total 950 employees across all OpCos
- Travel up to 30%
Qualifications and Experience
- 15+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, including at least 5 years in a senior regional role
- Proven experience managing the full HR spectrum across multiple Asia Pacific countries in the industrial or manufacturing sector
- Strong business acumen with the ability to align HR strategies to business objectives
- Demonstrated expertise in change leadership and problem solving
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills in a matrix organisation
- Familiarity with local labor laws and regulations in key APAC markets an advantage
