Head of Samsung Wallet - Product Management
Position Summary
Key Responsibilities:• Set the vision and roadmap for digital wallet services and run the product development cycle
• Understand and articulate user needs, build associated business cases and prioritize product requirements
• Proactively interface, and serve as a strategic leader, with HQ leadership and cross-functional teams to develop new product concepts using market data, usability studies and product development frameworks, and carry concepts to a successful launch
• Think through products from UX, engineering and business perspectives
• Collaborate with Engineering to create proof-of-concepts, prototypes, and other creative ways to gather direct feedback early in the product development process
• Lead a team directly and functionally lead other matrixed organizations including marketing, BD, UX, strategy, engineering collaboratively
• Manage project risks, scope changes and other non-standard events throughout the life of the project
• Manage stakeholder communications and weekly and monthly progress reporting
• Ensure quality of deliverables is verified and matching expectations
• Manage multiple concurrent projects with multiple teams around the world
• Lead and collaborate with marketing to drive awareness and create demand for new services
• Drive the evolution of the product and service
• Setup and lead cross-functional local teams for mobile payment business and digital IDs; facilitate decision-making, communication, and managing project progress
• Apply potential business opportunities during initial product planning stages, to create and/or expand sources of revenue for the service(s)
• Serve as an expert evaluating multi-party technology solutions and the associated business impact in critical verticals such as transit, corporate access, hospitality (hotel keys), and digital ID
• Provide actionable insights to shape product and partnerships and drive impactful collaboration with cross-functional teams in development, engineering, marketing, and operations to develop and execute a business strategy aimed at growing the Samsung Wallet ecosystem
Role and Responsibilities
Knowledge, Skills & Education
- A self-starter with excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Degree in Business, Engineering, or related field AND 18+ years of relevant experience with proven record around delivery ideally within the mobile space
- 5+ years of product management team leadership
- Strong leadership, collaboration, and communication skills – with experience managing, directing, and monitoring cross-functional teams to achieve an outcome.
- Proven experience with Mobile and Digital services
- Track record of building and launching new products
- Proven analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use hard data and metrics to make data-driven decisions and back up product decisions
- Be able to take the high strategic view as well as dive deep on issues
- The ability to manage chaos, ambiguity and complexity, in a detailed, organized way
- Ability to have challenging conversations at all seniority levels internally and externally.
- Ability to negotiate with multiple stakeholders, be able to defend work, and also know when to accept direction
- Ability to navigate heavily matrixed organizations and thrive within a fast-paced environment
Skills and Qualifications
Compensation for this role, for candidates based in New York, NY, is expected to be between $260,000 ~ $300,000 base. Actual pay will be determined considering factors such as relevant skills and experience, and comparison to other employees in the role.
