- Do you bring the cultural and linguistic competencies to engage meaningfully with our diverse Tāmaki Makaurau communities?

Join our Wellness Support Team (WST), a pioneering primary mental health service delivering integrated care to high-needs communities across Auckland. With over 90 team members, we are expanding to meet growing demand for wellbeing support in our GP clinics.
About the Role
This is a Fixed-term maternity cover position, based at the Mt Roskill WST HUB and providing services for clinics in the Mt Roskill area.
A rewarding generalist mental health and wellbeing role embedded in primary care. You will deliver brief, behavioural and psychological health interventions and work in collaboration with GPs, nurses, health coaches, and support workers.
Health Improvement Practitioners (HIPs) use Focused Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (FACT) – a brief, evidence-based model designed to create meaningful change in patients’ lives. You’ll work within a fast-paced, walk-in clinic environment, seeing patients as part of routine care, with warm handovers from the clinical team.
Eligibility Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- A postgraduate qualification enabling therapeutic work with clients.
- Registration under the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act (HPCA) or full NZAC membership.
- At least one year of experience working in a Mental Health service supporting clients or whānau in a clinical or community setting.
- Experience using brief, evidence-based psychological interventions.
- Enthusiasm for delivering brief one-to-one sessions, as well as group-based wellbeing programmes.
