Health, Safety and Environmental Officer

Key Responsibilities

  •  To lead the team of HSE Coordinators and HSE Supervisors on site.
  •  Provide advice in all aspects of safety to the Project Team.
  •  Monitor HSE compliance in accordance to local legislations and TCG standards at site for all work activities.
  •  Ensure Fire Safety on site by conducting comprehensive Fire Risk Assessment and cascading of evacuation procedures during EHS induction and Mass Tool Box Sessions.
  •  Assist and advise Project Team and Trade contractors in the conductance of relevant Risk Assessments and drafting Method Statements.
  •  Review or assist in the review with the project manager/construction manager or trade contractor managers/ engineers on all RAMS (Risk Assessment and Method Statements).
  •  Record checks (through monthly inspection) and firefighting equipment.
  •  Ensure relevant safety signage within the project area.
  •  Ensure site safety notice boards are updated with current information.
  •  Participate and assist in HSE audits and produce audit reports and follow up on any actions required
  •  Completing and compiling daily site report for distribution to TCG site staff
  •  Communicating safety performance to the project team on site
  • Ensure timely collation of HSE statics and data and submit to Project Manager.
  •  Proactively identify safety hazards and near misses to ensure a safe working condition by ensuring immediate rectifications.
  •  Providing advice and assistance on HSE (Health, Safety & Environmental) aspects to all employees
  •  Monitoring compliance with safe work procedures/practices
  •  Preparing and participating in safety meetings and programs
  •  Facilitating toolbox talks on regular basis
  •  Preparing and conducting project safety inductions
  •  Leading by example and promoting positive safety culture at every opportunity
  •  Facilitating the maintenance of the safety management system and records
  •  Participating in regular workplace inspections and ensure that any improvements resulting from such an inspection are auctioned in the required time frame given


Education & Training

 Specialist Diploma in Workplace Safety and Health from approved local training providers.

 NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) or equivalent will be an added advantage

 Registered WSHO (Workplace Safety & Health Officer) with MOM

 Licensed ECO (Environmental Control Officer) with NEA.

 3 year or more years of relevant working experience.
