About the Role
Westgold is seeking a motivated and experienced Health & Safety Trainer – High Risk to join our Environment, Health & Safety team. Reporting to the Group Manager Training, this role is responsible for developing and delivering high-risk work training programs that comply with national licensing standards across our operations.
This is a site-based role working across multiple locations, offering variety and the opportunity to influence safety outcomes across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, update and deliver training aligned with High Risk Work Licence (HRWL) national standards
- Conduct competency-based assessments using National Assessment Instruments
- Promote and embed a strong safety-first culture
- Maintain accurate training documentation and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Identify training needs and implement targeted solutions
- Engage with internal stakeholders and external regulatory bodies
- Continuously improve training programs in line with industry best practice
- Coach and mentor employees in safe work practices
About You
- Proven experience delivering training within high-risk environments (mining preferred)
- Strong understanding of HRWL standards and compliance requirements
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Passion for safety leadership and continuous improvement
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Qualifications
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (essential)
- Relevant high-risk work licence competencies
- Mining or related industry experience (desirable)
