We have an opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join their team of staff in the Theatre department.

This is a full- time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.

Duties of this role include:

  • Assist in delivering safe and effective care across the theatre department, supporting patients throughout their surgical pathway.

  • Prepare theatres for procedures, including equipment checks, stock preparation, and ensuring the environment is clean and ready.

  • Engage with patients in a respectful, dignified, and empathetic manner, helping to alleviate anxiety and ensure comfort.

  • Maintain a high standard of personal conduct and clinical care in accordance with CHG policies and the HCA framework.

  • Take responsibility for developing your own clinical and technical skills through training, mentorship, and reflection.

  • Contribute to maintaining a safe and efficient theatre environment through stock control, timely equipment turnover, and adherence to clinical standards.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • Previous experience in a care or health support role (hospital, care home, community, or domiciliary).

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills with a caring, compassionate attitude.

  • Ability to follow instructions and escalate concerns appropriately.

  • Basic literacy, numeracy, and IT skills.

  • Physically able to undertake duties including moving and handling tasks.

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent qualification) desirable.

  • Knowledge of safeguarding, infection control, and confidentiality procedures.
